Hi, my plant is still not looking 100%, a few leaves have brown spots and 1 or 2 are starting to look see-through. I cut 4 unhealthy leaves off just to give some space at the top of the jar. I hope that new healthy leaves will grow back in time. I spoke to my partner Timothy Mew, and we both agreed to re-do our jar, as we did not remove all the "sponge" material around the plant at the begining. Just to make it look better we will remove more leaves if we think its necessary, remove all that "sponge" material from the plant and jar, because there is quite a bit of that at the bottom of the jar and I'm not sure if that stuff affect water quality, then lastly we will re-plant the Amazon Sword and clean the small amount of algea off the glass.

Our fish, Tyson, is starting to change colour again but only slightly. When I recieved him, he was pale grey-ish red mix, he then changed to bright red but he now looks to be darker in colour. His body seems dark grey and red, but his fins are still bright red.

  1. The red-grey colour must look really nice in the sunlight

  3. i think its normal for the leaves to change colour because the jar isnt big enough for the entire plant.what is the "sponge" material u are referring to though?

  4. when we got our plant, it was in a black holder with a sponge type of material to hold water for the plant. A lot of that was on the bottom of the jar just floating around.

  6. We made all the changes so I guess Tim will keep us updated about any observations in the fish and plant's condition. Tyson is doing very well and seems to be pretty active and the plant isn't looking bad, but it can look a bit better.

    I appreciate the feedback.
